Five things to review before your next credit conversation.

  1. See the credit assessment recorded about your company.

    Review the reported credit score and risk rating before your next trade-account or finance conversation. This is one provider’s assessment; a lender or supplier may use other information and its own criteria.

  2. Put a disappointing credit limit into context.

    See the recommended credit limit and, where available, the contract limit and their histories. Compare them with the level of credit or work you are seeking, and identify questions to discuss with the provider.

  3. Look at the financial information behind the business.

    Review available cash, assets, liabilities, equity and year-on-year figures. Smaller companies may disclose limited accounts, and filed figures can relate to an earlier accounting period.

  4. Check the details before your next application.

    Review the registered company identity, directors and available judgments, charges and payment information. If something looks unfamiliar or incorrect, you have a starting point for investigating it with the relevant source.

  5. Keep the information ready for your next conversation.

    Read the report online, print it or download a copy. Use it to prepare questions for your supplier, accountant or finance provider rather than applying again without reviewing what is recorded.

Can I use these credits to check a customer or supplier?

CHECKME credits are restricted to the company registered to your business account. Reports on other companies require standard report credits.

Will this tell me why a particular application was refused?

The report lets you review the company information available to our data sources. Only the provider that assessed your application can explain its decision. Different providers may use different information and criteria.

Will checking the report improve my score?

Reading the report does not itself change a credit score. It helps you review what is recorded and identify details or questions to investigate further. The report does not include a credit-repair service or a guarantee of finance approval.
